Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets are a professional basketball team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. They compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Southeast Division.
The team was established in 1988 as an expansion team. The Hornets became known for their strong fan support and exciting players, such as Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning, and Muggsy Bogues.
In 2002, the original franchise relocated to New Orleans, becoming the New Orleans Hornets. Charlotte was granted a new team in 2004, initially named the Bobcats. The Hornets name returned in 2014 when the New Orleans franchise rebranded as the Pelicans and Charlotte reclaimed the “Hornets” name.
